Defining Best Practice; tools + experiences + ethics
Truth Dare Art: Focus Group 4
Q. Sharing resources; what can you offer now? tomorrow? next year?
Q. Examining our motives; who is it for? Who benefits truly?
Q. Sparking collaborations; what is the missing link?
Make a wish. Make a pledge.
12 July 2019, Discussion at Truth-Dare-Art Social Practice Forum Felicie Kertudo's notes:
They asked themselves, as practitioners : who are you doing it for ? Before admitting that you cannot be everything to everyone all at once.
It is about communication, about listening, about awareness that not everyone has the same experience.
They thought about the motivation : it's about pulling people in, not only putting something there. First experiences were shared : not all of them went to museums when they were kids, they did not go to museums before going to university.
Art should be more integrated to education, to the curriculum. When we know there is inequality in term of classes, backgrounds, schools need to act as a balance and provide more fairness.
It comes back to what Laurence was saying at the beginning of the day : at the end, it always goes back to your personal story.
